Sean Messina founded Shift Roofing & Exteriors with a belief that still shapes the company today: homeowners shouldn’t have to choose between an exterior that performs well and one that looks good.
With more than a decade of hands-on experience in the roofing and exterior industry, Sean saw an opportunity to approach home improvement differently. Too often, function and design were treated as separate conversations. He wanted to build a company that considered both, creating exterior solutions that protect the home, solve real problems, and feel intentional from the street.
That approach became the foundation of Shift Roofing & Exteriors. Under Sean’s leadership, the company has grown into a team serving homeowners and businesses throughout Columbus and Central Ohio with residential and commercial roofing, siding, gutters, windows, and exterior services.
Sean remains closely connected to the vision behind Shift: thoughtful recommendations, quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and work the team can be proud to put its name on.
Clay Burk brings more than a decade of experience in construction, leadership, and project management to his role as Vice President of Shift Roofing & Exteriors.
Born and raised in Central Ohio, Clay has worked across both residential and commercial construction and has been involved in tens of millions of dollars in completed projects. His experience spans nearly every level of the industry, from managing crews in the field to leading sales, production, and high-performing teams.
At Shift, Clay focuses on developing people, strengthening operations, and creating a client experience built around professionalism, communication, and integrity. His practical understanding of both the field and the business helps keep projects moving smoothly while giving the Shift team the systems and support they need to do their best work.
Outside of work, Clay enjoys golf, spending time with his wife and two children, and staying grounded in his faith.
